Dr Tanya Ursova
As
a previous international postgraduate student, Tanya has considerable
experience of assisting students to adjust, academically and personally, into
the UK’s further and higher education system. As well as providing thorough
university consultancy on a range of academic subjects, including course and
university selection and personal statement guidance, Tanya also offers
specialist advice on all aspects of applying to the leading music
Conservatories including those who use CUKAS (Conservatoires UK Admissions
Service) and has strong links with the leading Institutions, particularly in
Russia and Ukraine.
Tanya
was awarded her Licentiate Teaching Diploma and MMus from the Royal Academy of
Music where she was a recipient of an entrance scholarship. Following her
graduation she was invited to join the staff at the Royal Academy of Music,
where she has worked for over 7 years. She also gained her PhD in Piano
Performance from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and taught at
Goldsmiths for a number of years.
She
is the recipient of various prestigious music awards and has given many
conference and academic papers and recitals throughout the world including USA,
New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, France, Sweden, Italy and UK.
Tanya recently represented the Royal Academy of Music at the International
Conservatoires Festival with a performance in St Petersburg's famous
Sheremetyev Palace.
Tanya
also worked as coordinator of the Centre for Russian Music at Goldsmiths
College and as Music Consultant for Clifford Chance Law Firm, where she
co-ordinated the Royal Academy of Music's concerts and piano and vocal teaching
to staff.
